It's Five for Friday on February 27th. I create five articles every Friday for people interested in public sector operations in general and public procurement specifically.
So first it's procurement month in March, and NIGP will kick off with a webinar with the new CEO, Debbie Trueblood, on March 3rd at 1 Eastern, celebrating the kickoff of the month and digging into her vision to emphasize pride in the profession. And we agree.
Second, Victor Lemer highlights the Radio NIGP February 2026 episode Thinking Differently, where many of the leaders in the NIGP community talk about new perspectives on creativity, collaboration, and problem
solving. Third, the National Association of State Procurement Officials shares its most recent white paper in an ever-growing free library. This one is on the nature and approach and options when Soul Source
is on the table. Fourth, ICMA features an on-demand webinar on AI leadership in local government, offering insights on how city leaders and procurement teams can responsibly integrate AI and make it work day to day. And finally, NASIO outlines its 2026 federal advocacy priorities, offering a strategic overview of issues like state-led AI governance, cybersecurity grant reauthorization, regulatory harmonization, and more that will have flowing impact into sourcing and
contract management. Last week I was in Tucson for the NIGP Leadership Summit, and that was a great event. Beautiful city and a great outdoor venue that included javelina sightings. I'm pretty sure they were real and not released on queue. So thanks to NIGP for a nice event. And with that, have a happy Friday.
