Five For Friday - September 19th Readout
It's five for Friday on September 19th. I create five articles every Friday for people interested in public sector operations in general and public procurement specifically. And from time to time I record an audio companion, which is what you are listening to now. So first, the Open Contracting Partnership invites cities to harness the power of procurement data through a 12-week sprint program starting September 29th, which is aimed at enhancing how spending data is used for city budgeting and procurement. Second, the NASPO Pulse Podcast returns, launching not one but two new episodes, highlighting focus areas of state CPOs, two specifically, Peter Korlick in Delaware and Gene Burke in Connecticut. So you know that will have things that you will want to hear. Third, Tammy Rhimes and Jack Pellegrino have a free webinar on September 23rd on managing workloads, timelines, and stakeholder expectations effectively. These two obviously know what they're talking about, so this should be a good use of your time. Fourth, Radio NIGP is back on the air with Mastering the Politics of Procurement Part 1, looking at how political dynamics shapes public procurement, as well as other topics from the recent forum experience and also how AI is finding its voice in procurement. And finally, Diane Daly announces 50 plus new NIGP CPP certification recipients, recognizing procurement professionals who've completed this credential in the most recent testing window. So go check out the list and add your congratulations. And with that, have a happy Friday.
