Five For Friday - September 12th Readout
It's Five Friday on September 12th. I curate five articles every Friday for people interested in public sector operations in general and public procurement specifically. And from time to time, I record an audio companion, which is what you are listening to now. So first, NIGP hosts a webinar on why vendors don't bid next week on Thursday, September 18th at 2 Eastern, focusing on how to best break down barriers and bring more voices into the procurement process. Always a great topic. Second, NASBO highlights a piece called Ropes Rules Relationships, focusing on how to build deeper connections with procurement and legal to work together to deliver their combined value. Third, the Procurement Excellence Network reports on Boston's effort to improve parking data using procurement to drive new outcomes by bringing creative new sourcing strategies. Always love to see that. Fourth, a former director with SBA outlines what contractors and acquisition teams should expect as contracting activities transition to GSA, covering procedural and legal considerations and also providing some great graphs and data. And finally, the Coalition for Common Sense and Government Procurement has released the FAR Companion, a guide designed to help acquisition professionals make the most of the increased discretion created by the FAR. This is a big and comprehensive free document, so it is worth your time if you are in this space. And with that, have a happy Friday.
