Public Procurement Change Agents
Five For Friday - August 29th Readout

SPEAKER_00:

It's Five Friday on August 29th. I create five articles every Friday for people interested in public sector operations in general and public procurement specifically. And from time to time I record an audio companion, which is what you are listening to now. So first, the Coalition for Common Sense and Government Procurement shares a final rule from the ongoing FAR reform effort. FAR, of course, is the federal acquisition regulations, and this one increases the purchasing thresholds based on inflation. Many state and local entities tie their definitions to the federal one, so if you are one of them, this is probably very interesting to you. Second, the Procurement Excellence Network shares an on-demand video recording from their recent event titled How to Generative AI's Evolving Role in Procurement. As always, good content from the Procurement Excellence Network. Third, Victor Lemer shares the most recent radio NIGP content digest, this one looking back at NIGP Forum 2025, and the many awards and recognitions given to members of the procurement community. Fourth, NASPO shares a session from the 2025 REACH event, which was titled First Steps on the Trail Starting Your Procurement Journey. It includes a lot of great information for folks early in their career outlining first steps and professional development pathways. And finally, Darren Matthews shares the most recent edition of the NAEP Education Journal, highlighting his cover story on succession planning in procurement. Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend ahead, and with that, have a happy Friday.
