Five For Friday - February 14th Readout

SPEAKER_00:

It's Five for Friday on February 14th. I curate out five things every Friday for people interested in public sector operations in general and public procurement specifically. And from time to time, I record an audio companion, which is what you're listening to now. So first, NASPO has released a new report called Navigating the Procurement Professional Journey. with compiled insights from the 2024 Partnership Forum, in which multiple NCs were assembled into individual groups to talk about core challenges in procurement that affect workforce. It packs a lot of information into 11 pages, and it is worth your time. Second, and staying with NASPO, NASPO is hosting a Cronin webinar series highlighting award-winning projects in public procurement. The next installment is on February 19th at 1 Eastern, looking at Michigan's award-winning submission for Modernizing Risk Management, Innovating and Improving Insurance Compliance. Third, NIGP spotlights the contributions of Tony DeCiso in their ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, and he focuses on how supplier engagement helps all parties get the most out of the contracts. Fourth, NACIO highlights the impact of federal funding reduction on state IT and procurement strategies in their recent podcast. As funding landscapes shift, states must navigate new challenges to deliver on critical initiatives. And finally, the Open Contracting Partnership has published a report on their end-of-year community feedback survey with input from 232 reformers in 70 countries on key topics and support needs that are useful for their mission. It's an interesting cross-section. Next week, we'll be attending the NIGP Leadership Conference in Chicago between February 20 and 21. We'll also be catching the tail of the SOVR Conference, which is on the 19th. So if you are attending, let's play into chat. And I'm looking forward to great discussions with this very important cross-section of national leadership. And with that, have a happy Friday.
